Prof IP DATA from PTG Engine


Prof IP DATA Utility from «PTG Engine» with such DVB-cards as Prof Red Series 6200/7300, Prof Revolution 7301/7500/8000/9000 and Luxury CI is used for the satellite Internet.

Operational stability is the most important advantage of the program. Prof IP DATA can be used on a 24/7 basis as long as possible.


Prof IP DATA Description 



«Provider» Dropdown Menu 

This is the list in which the names of all preset and saved satellite Internet parameters are contained. After selecting a provider data in the «Tuner» tab, «LNB» and «DiSEqC» are changed and become effective after pressing the «Set» key in the «Tuner» tab.

The «Add» key saves the new provider and the parameters in «Tuner»«LNB» and «DiSEqC» tabs are being used.

The «Change» key allows to modify pre-set and saved parameters of providers.

Provider data editing algorithm:

1.Select desired provider from the list.
2. Make the required changes in the «Tuner», «LNB» and «DiSEqC» tabs.                                                              3. Press the «Set» key.


4. Press the «Change» key and the data in the Prof IP DATA configuration file shall be updated.

The «Delete» key wipes up a provider from the list along with all the signal, converter, and DiSEqc parameters .

«Tuner» Tab

 «Tuner Status» Panel

This panel indicates the «Signal level in percentage» and «Signal quality in percentage». Both indicators are divided in three sectors - of red, yellow and green colors.

Color index: – reception without errors (if there is no interference).

  • Red – insufficient  signal level or quality makes the reception impossible.
  • Yellow – insufficient  signal level or quality, reception with errors is possible.
  • Green – reception without errors (if there is no interference).

 «Transponder parameters» Panel

Contains transponder parameters required to receive data.

In the «Frequency (MHz)» input box,  the central frequency of transponder in MHz is displayed. The central frequency is usually used as in real reception conditions the frequency varies within +/- 3 MHz. For example, in hot season LNB (converter) is heated and the frequency drifts from the central level. Cheap LNB in any season drifts from the set frequency within +/- 1 MHz. Prof DVB-cards successfully deal with “drifting” frequency thanks to efficient search algorithms and locking the necessary signal.

In the «Speed (kS/s)» input box, transponder symbol rate is indicated in thousands of symbols per second.

In the «Polarization» dropdown menu, required polarization can be chosen: «V» - vertical  or «H» - horizontal.

In the dropdown «Type» menu transponder types are located: DVB-S or DVB-S2. If DVB-card does not support the DVB-S2 standard the list is blocked.

The «FEC» dropdown menu contains errors predication corrector data. It is obligatory required to be indicated for DVB-S2, and not required for DVB-S («Auto»setting).



The «Set» key allows to activate parameters required for DVB-card operation and parameters located in «Tuner», «LNB», «DiSEqC» and «MPE-filter» tabs.



The «Hide after Start» tick means that Prof IP DATA starting minimizes the system tray (box near the clock).

Signal reception status is displayed by changing the icon color:

  • Red – transponder is not locked or «Signal level» and «Signal quality» are not sufficient for adequate reception.
  • Blue – transponder is locked, data is not being received.
  • Green – transponder is locked, data is being received. Data transfer speed is displayed as a diagram available at the «MPE-filter» tab on «Status» panel.


 «LNB» Panel

This panel contains converter (LNB) control parameters.

The «LNB type» dropdown menu allows you to choose the one converter from the widespread types list. Choosing the «CUSTOM» (manual setup), you are activating the following boxes: «LOF 1» (1st heterodyne frequency), «Switch» (heterodyne switching frequency), «LOF 2» (2nd heterodyne frequency).

With the help of this DVB-card, the «Power» button switches converter power on/off. The indicator located near this key shows the converter power supply status, green color indicates that power is on.




«DiSEqC 1.0»Panel 

Contains control parameters of commutators on the basis of  DiSEqC protocol version 1.0. All the parameters become active by clicking the «Set» key in the «Tuner» tab.

The «DiSEqC 1.0» tick activates the tab and runs the positioners, commutator control mode.

The «DiSEqC- switch» dropdown menu allows you to   choose a number of an active port.

The «Repeat counts» box is intented for predetermining the number of control commands replays(if the commutator supports this option).

The «Gap Time» box shows in milliseconds a time period within which control command shall be repeated.



«DiSEqC 1.2» Panel 

Contains commutators' control parameters, positioners supporting control on a basis of DiSEqC protocol version 1.2. All the parameters become active by clicking the «Set» key in the «Tuner» tab.

The «DiSEqC 1.0» tick activates the tab and runs the positioners, commutator control mode.

The indicates a number of  preset and saved position in the memory of positioned.

The «Repeat counts» box contains the quantity of control commands replays(if the device supports this option).




The  «RAW-command» tick activates the tab and runs the  contro mode.

In the «Data» boxes, the control commands in sexidemical notation are added. Commands are transferred by pressing the «Set» key in the «Tuner» tab.




Contains the data for the received traffic flow filtration on a basis of MAC (network device identifier ) or IP-address.



«MPE-filter» Panel 

Contains filtration data on a basis of MAC or IP-address.

As a filter you can choose either «Default MАС address» (manufacturer's DVB-card MAC-address) or «MAC address» (MAC-address given by the provider). Besides you could choose «IP-address» (given by the satellite Internet provider).


 «Status» Panel

Contains statistical information about the received data quantity in Mb as well as the data transfer speed displayed as a diagram.


«PID-filter» Tab 

Contains data for receiving traffic flow filtration. Your PID number is indicated in the subscribing parameters of “Personal Account” (get it from your satellite Internet provider).


 «Active PIDs»Panel

Contains the table of numbers assigned to PID («PID»column) and their stratus («Status» column). If a filter for this PID has been set, then the «Active» inscription will appear in the «Status» column against the PID number.






«PID-filter» Panel 

Contains the PID-numbers list, on a basis of which flow filtration is being performed. The «Remove» key is used to delete unnecessary PID-numbers.



 «Add PID» Panel

Contains the « PID-value» box for a new PID-number adding.


The «HEX» tick is used to input a PID-number in sexidecimal notation (on default in decimally).


The  «Add» key adds a new PID-number in the filter list.
